At our Doncaster Works, we have developed a particular expertise in the life extension, overhaul, maintenance and refurbishment of railway rolling stock. Located on a 22 acre site alongside the East Coast mainline, Doncaster Works has a long and proud history in the construction and maintenance of trains – the works being the birthplace of famous steam locomotives such as the Flying Scotsman and the world steam speed record holder Mallard.

Wabtec Rail has continued to build on this history, and our passenger fleet refurbishment expertise has encompassed the refurbishment of London Underground’s Waterloo and City Line trains through to the carrying out of heavy maintenance, interior upgrades and refurbishments of DMU’s, EMU’s, High Speed Trains, locomotives and coaching stock for the UK’s rolling stock leasing companies and train operators.

Our vast range of rolling stock expertise and technological resources has been built up over many years. This gives us the capability to repair, refurbish and overhaul everything from shunting locomotives to mainline locomotives through to the general repair and maintenance of freight wagons.
