209 Series Flange Sand TrapsThe 209 Series Flange Sand Traps are designed to provide unrestricted flow of sand to enhance traction between the wheel and rail. The 209 Series Traps are lightweight with a low profile for those under the platform locations and/or on the truck-mounted sandbox typically found on an industrial type locomotive or light rail vehicle. Horizontal or vertical outlets make it possible to locate the trap with a minimal length of sand hose. Three models are of fered to control the sand delivery you require. One with a 1/16" orifice (209-FC-1), a second with a 5/64" orifice (209- FC) and a third model with no orifice (209-F). An adjustable nozzle is used with each model which, along with the integral orifice, allows the sand delivery to be adjusted to meet your operating needs. Choose a GW normally closed solenoid valve to provide the compressed air necessary to move the sand from the 209 Series Sand Trap.

277 Series Sand Trap with Rotary Shut-OffThe 277-2 Sand Trap and Controller with Rotary Shut-Off remains the industry standard for uniform sanding to enhance locomotive traction. The 277-2 Sand Trap is designed with a unique adjustment feature that determines the amount of sand delivered to the point of contact between the rail and wheel interface. By using an Allen wrench to adjust the integral paddle, the sand delivery can be adjusted from a "LO" setting to position "three" without breaking any pipe connection. The integral Shut-Off permits the sand trap and controller to be removed without draining all the sand from the sandbox. The T-handle wrench provided in the quick flange allows the sanding hose to be disconnected with ease as well. Fixed delivery traps are available upon request. This preset feature can prevent costly sand waste.

353 Series Manual Metering Valve (Horn Valve)The 353 Series Manual Metering Valve (Horn V alve) continues to be the manual valve of choice for operating Locomotives three or five chime pneumatic horns. Equipped with 1/2"NPT inlet and outlet connections, GW's unique stem assembly allows for manual adjustment from full flow to several metered flow positions, 1/16" (12 SCFM), 1/8" (24 SCFM), 3/16" (30 SCFM) and 70 SCFM in the full open position. Although designed to accommodate the multi-pitch pneumatic horn needs of a Locomotive, they can be easily adapted for other multiple flow pneumatic functions. Like most GW valves, the 353 Series is designed for easy maintenance without disturbing any pipe connections due to the engineered operating lever, valve cage and stem assembly.

373 Series E-BELLThe 373 Series E-BELL is a solid-state electronic bell with a sound that is just like a pneumatic bell. It does this without the normal maintenance and/or potential freeze ups of conventional bell ringers. The design is half the weight of a cast iron pneumatic bell and just as rugged. A dual interface bracket makes it possible to retrofit GM and GETS locomotives with ease. Two models are available to choose from, which include a hardwired model (373-010), and a 2-pin connector model (373-011).

The drain valve opens with just a pulse of air and only stays open until all the liquid has been expelled. 500 Series Sander Control ValveThe 500 Series Sander Control Valve is the "Heart of the Diesel Electric Sanding System" for inboard and outboard sanding. The "3-in-1" System Charges (sand is delivered quickly to the point of contact between the wheel and rail), Sands (sand flow is metered at a constant level), and Cleans (a second blast of sand and air to prevent build up). It does this each time the valve is actuated manually or as programmed by the on-board adhesion system. GW sander control valves are designed with pipe brackets to permit easy maintenance as required. As a result, no air connections need to be disconnected saving out-of- service time for your equipment. NPT connections are standard, however BSPP connections are available upon request. Several control orifices are available to control sand output and meet your operating needs. Manual "Clean Out Jets" permit the integral orifices to be cleared of any build-up or contamination as required. Epoxy impregnated and encapsulated "Class F continuous duty" coils in a variety of DC and AC input voltages are standard equipment with Faston tab (quick disconnect) or terminal block connection with or without suppression devices.
